Doechii’s Rise to Fame

 

American singer and rapper Doechii was one of 2025’s biggest breakout stars. Over the past year, she has amazed everyone on the red carpet and on stage. Her unique style and lively personality draw attention. She also has a great sense of artistic direction.

Many of her projects have sparked a lot of talk. This is especially true for her performance on “The Late Show” and her many live shows from the “Live from the Swamp” tour. Doechii was named Billboard’s 2025 Woman of the Year because of her importance in the music industry.

The Start

 

She began her career by releasing tracks on SoundCloud with her debut song dropping in 2014. She went on to open for SZA’s tour in 2021 as well as perform at the BET Awards.

Her emergence into the spotlight started that year as her exposure caught the attention of record labels. She signed with Capitol Records as well as Top Dawg Entertainment where she was the first female rapper to establish a contract. One of her songs, “What It Is (Block Boy),” went viral on TikTok in 2023. This helped her reach the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time and brought her closer to a big break.

Growth

 

Her rising popularity got her a spot as a performer at Coachella 2023. She also opened for Doja Cat on her 2023 Scarlet Tour.

The artist found new online success in 2024 after releasing her second album, Alligator Bites Never Heal. Tracks from this record became popular on TikTok. This includes “Denial is a River” and “Anxiety.” The song “Anxiety” also became a radio hit.

Doechii has won many important awards. These include a BET award, a GLAAD Media award, an MTV Video Music award, and her first Grammy award. She has also received several other nominations.

She has several Grammy nominations for the 2026 award season. This shows she plans to keep going strong.
