Break Out Star Miles Caton
Actor and R&B singer Miles Caton has exercised his performance talents all of his life. His voice has caught the attention of musical superstars such as Grammy winning artists H.E.R and Jay Z.
On Notice
A sample of Nina Simone's cover of "Feeling Good" by Caton was used in Jay-Z's "4:44" music video in 2017. This helped Jay-Z gain more exposure in the music industry. In 2022 the performer toured with H.E.R at the age of sixteen and the following year the artist released his first single. These were not the only people who had noticed him though.
Preacherboy
Just before 2025, director and producer Ryan Coogler recognized Caton. He called Caton’s talent “a once in a lifetime voice.”
Coogler knew Caton was special after watching his Sinners audition tape. The supernatural horror film was important to Caton.
He originally thought he would play a minor role. Coogler knew he would play the important role of “Sammie (Preacherboy)” in the film. His rich voice and great acting skills made him a perfect fit.
At the time of filming Caton was only a teen and turned twenty just as the movie’s press tour kicked off. His fame and recognition skyrocketed to new heights after audiences watched him in his debut role, earning both critical and commercial acclaim.
The role allowed him to not only showcase his voice, but his acting and guitar playing skills (specifically blues guitar) as well. He worked hard for months prior to filming to hone those skills.
He was featured on both Variety and Time's Actors to Watch. At the 31st Critics' Choice Awards he was awarded the award for “Best Young Performer” and recently accompanied his Sinners costars at the 2026 Golden Globe award show.
No new projects have been announced for the young actor yet but make sure to keep an eye out
