Who’s Malcolm Todd?
Malcolm Todd is an up-and-coming artist that you should probably be keeping tabs on. With only around four hundred and twenty thousand Instagram followers (despite his 11.9 million monthly listeners on Spotify), this new artist is stealing the hearts of indie pop music fans everywhere.
The Los Angeles native first broke through on TikTok in 2023 with his single “Art House” which started to bring in listeners by the thousands. His internet success also landed him a record deal with Columbia and soon after in 2024 released his mixtape Sweet Boy, earning immense praise from fans.
Many fans of Todd also tend to enjoy artists such as Steve Lacy, Dominic Fike, Tyler, the Creator, and Kali Uchis. As well as Omar Apollo who he opened for in 2024. There are clear alternative R&B influences mixed with chill indie pop, creating an effortlessly cool sound perfect for this era of alternative music.
The First
Todd’s first album, which is self-titled, was released in April of this year, doing extremely well with the deluxe edition reaching number forty-nine on the Billboard 200 chart. This album also contained the single “Chest Pain (I Love)” which went extremely viral on TikTok, simultaneously earning the artist his first spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at spot 68.

Both of Todd’s tours, Sweet Boy Tour (2024) and The Wholesome Rockstar Tour (2025) drew in large crowds of fans, many praising his stage presence and crowd interaction as well as his strong and accurate live vocals. Many fans have expressed hope for more shows in the future, which there undoubtedly will be with the track that he is on.
