What is it About Adam Sandler’s Style?

If you want to dress like a celebrity, you might take inspiration from Adam Sandler. He has mastered the baggy look and is a style icon. The actor has gained a lot of attention over the years for his style, despite it consisting primarily of T-shirts and basketball shorts.

Style Insights

What is the appeal here? To start out, he is doing it differently from other celebrities of his status. Despite his wealth, he chooses to dress this wa,y which adds to the public’s fascination or admiration of the actor’s style. He also really leans into the baggy look.

Big & Bigger

Everything seems to be two sizes too big, shirts and shorts alike. Today, short shorts are in for men, but Sandler keeps them long. Many millennial and Gen Z actors/singers are rocking the retro short shorts or even a cropped tee.

If you want to stick to Sandler’s style, steer clear of the trends. This goes for shoes as well.

Comfortable Shoes

He is all about basketball/athletic shoes most of the time, or the occasional UGG moment (still paired with the basketball shorts). When the shorts and high socks are not making an appearance, joggers and puffer jackets have their time to shine. All of these choices often look like they are not made with color or pattern in mind, as he embraces a good contrast. Basketball shoes definitely seem to be his favorite.

Top It Off

To finish it off, the actor often wears a pair of shades. This usually brings the whole look together.

Looking back on his style from the 90s, there is definitely a huge difference between what he once wore and today’s style choices. Both have their own unique appeal that the public loudly adores. He is truly a fashion icon.

Adam Richard Sandler

Adam Richard Sandler was born on September 9, 1966, in Brooklyn, New York. Sandler used his school days to display his comedy skills and antics. He was not great at school, but he was great at making schoolmates laugh. He started to focus on performing, including acting and stand-up comedy.

After high school, Sandler took classes at the Lee Strasberg Theater & Film Institute in New York City. He also attended the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. He would graduate in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in acting.

Career Start

Sandler’s first major acting role would be on The Cosby Show. He appeared in a few episodes as a friend of the family. He was getting small parts as an actor and continuing to pursue a career as a stand-up. Eventually, Sandler would grab the attention of the iconic sketch show, Saturday Night Live.
