The History Of The Nike Kyrie 7

The Nike Kyrie 7 would be the final release in the Nike and Kyrie Irving relationship. The Nike and Irving partnership led to some memorable sneakers. Learn more about the final Kyrie signature shoe from Nike below.

VII

The Nike Kyrie VII was released in 2020. By 2020, Kyrie was playing with Kevin Durant for the Brooklyn Nets. Some of the colorways and designs were informed by Durant’s Nike line. There is a Zoom Air Heel in the VII. There were a lot of personal touches from the life of Irving added to the shoe. Sadly, this was the last time Nike and Kyrie would work together on a signature shoe. For a lot of different reasons, all of which are not completely clear, the two sides decided to end their successful relationship after the VII.

Kyrie

Kyrie Irving was born in Australia in 1992. He was a standout player in high school. Irving played high school basketball in New Jersey. He could score, practically at will. His handles and understanding of the game were strong at an early age.

Blue Devil

He was so impressive that he caught the attention of one of the most prestigious programs in all of College Basketball, the Duke Blue Devils. Irving would play for the top coach in college basketball history, Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski. Irving was only able to play 11 games in his single season for Duke due to injury. Even though he was not on the court very much, NBA scouts knew he was ready for the pro game.

Number 1

Kyrie Irving would be selected with the No. 1 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. He would be chosen by the Cleveland Cavaliers. His first few years in Cleveland were not successful, in terms of team success. Irving also struggled with injuries at the start of his career. But his talent was unquestionable.
