Nike Paul George Shoe Guide

Paul George has been one of the top players in the NBA for years now. Since his debut in 2010, George has established himself as a threat on both the offensive side and defensive side of the ball. Nike and Paul George have had a long relationship that has resulted in 6 Nike x PG signature shoes. Learn about the 6 shoes in the Nike Paul George guide below.

PG 1

The Nike PG 1 was crafted to match the needs of Paul George. He played a full court game, high intensity on defense and offense, for every second he played on the court. 2017 saw the release of George’s first signature shoe. The 1 utilized responsive cushioning, locked down stability and all around comfort. Its inner-sleeve and plush sockliner ensured exceptional comfort.

PG 2

The 2 used Zoom Air to deliver elite responsiveness. The half-bootie construction kept the foot secure. The lockdown support was carefully crafted for the needs of George. PG appreciated how the forefront lock in allowed him to cut, and attack from different angles and positions. Designer Tony Hardman wanted to improve on the PG 1.

PG 3

You cannot compete on both ends of the court the way George does without demanding a lot from your footwear. The half-bootie construction creates a snug, secure fit, which is what George loved. The traction on the 3 was inspired by Moon craters. There is responsive cushioning, and its Zoom Air unit offers a springy feel.

PG 4

A comfortable Paul George can impact the game offensively and defensively. The 4 is a lightweight shoe and low cut. It had full length Nike Air cushioning. This provided the explosive George with a soft and springy ride. A breathable, zippered mesh overlay covered the laces to give a locked down fit. But the 4 was still supportive and flexible.

The allover flexibility helped him dominate on both ends of the court. The outsole had a multidirectional tread pattern that gave George the ability to stop and go smoothly on the court.
