All About Megan Thee Stallion
Three-time Grammy award winning rapper and singer Megan Thee Stallion is one of the coolest hip-hop artists in the music industry right now. She grew up in Houston, Texas and initially started receiving attention online for her freestyle videos and signed with 1501 Certified Entertainment in 2018. After gaining her contract she released two Eps, with her second titled Tina Snow bringing her first entry on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Tracks from this EP are continuing to circulate on TikTok today. Her first two mixtapes, Fever (2019) and Suga (2020) were back-to-back hits, putting her on the map.
Songs from the records like “Hot Girl Summer” and “Savage” went viral on TikTok. Soon after the widespread love for these tracks a “Savage” remix with Beyoncé was released, winning Megan two Grammy awards as well as reaching spot number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Growing With Success
That success was the perfect gateway to releasing her first album Good News which also came out in 2020. The track “Body” once again topped charts as well as her wildly popular collaboration “WAP” with Cardi B. To close out her majorly successful year, Time Magazine included her on its list of the 100 most influential people in the world. The performer released a compilation album in 2021, Something for Thee Hotties, which once again topped charts and received a Grammy nomination.
Amidst some drama she parted ways with her labels at the time shortly after releasing her second studio album Traumazine in 2022 which included the hit single “Sweetest Pie” with Dua Lipa. After the departure she ended up creating Hot Girl Productions, her own record label that she began to release under.
Her self-titled third studio album Megan came in 2024, bringing the performer her first solo song “Hiss” to top the Hot 100. This also made her the first solo female rapper to ever debut at the top of the Billboard Global 200. Keep an ear out for her next hit.
