All About Bruno Mars
American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars is known widely as a pop icon and is one of the best-selling music artists of all time. He’s known not only for his songs but for his unique voice and captivating showmanship on tour. With a more than impressive discography to back up his career, it’s not easy to list every milestone of success he’s reached.
The Career
Mars was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and from a young age was recognized as a talented performer. He moved to Los Angeles in 2003 to kick off his music career and co-founded a production team called the Smeezingtons.
As he started recording music, his albums were immediate hits. His debut album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, was released in 2010. It was a huge success.
It brought worldwide hits like “Just the Way You Are”, “Grenade”, and “The Lazy Song”. It also included “Talking to the Moon”, “Marry You”, and “Count On Me”. It topped charts in Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. It was certified nine-times platinum.
The album earned multiple Grammy nominations and “Just the Way You Are” received the award for Best Male Pop Vocal.
His second album titled Unorthodox Jukebox (2012) received nearly the same amount of acclaim with five hit singles like “Locked Out of Heaven” and “When I Was Your Man”. It was also certified six times platinum.
Once again in 2016 Mars’ third album 24K Magic found fame with five hit singles. This album won seven Grammy awards in 2018 including Album of the Year, Best R&B Album, Record of the Year and Song of The Year" with “That's What I Like" all at the same award show.
After his back-to-back platinum albums Mars joined forces with singer Anderson Paak to create Silk Sonic and together released an R&B album titled An Evening With Silk Sonic which included the radio hit “Leave the Door Open”. In 2024 he collaborated on two commercially successful duets, “Die With A Smile” with Lady Gaga and “APT.” with Rosé. The artist has sent fans into a frenzy by announcing his fourth studio album The Romantic which will be released later into 2026.
