The past meets the future on the instant athleisure hit Women’s adidas Originals NMD R1 Casual Shoes. A low-key sneaker that combines retro ‘80s adidas Originals running silhouettes with modern materials, the NMD R1 strikes an unassuming pose. Created by adidas Originals designer Nic Galway, the NMD was derived from the idea that there would be no deep archive dives to get design ideas, but that the old-school details everyone already had in their mind were the only elements worth keeping. Thus, the NMD was born, with nuances captured from such powerhouse 1980s running models as the adidas Originals Micropacer, the Boston Super, and the Rising Star.
