Rhodes was born in Georgia on June 30, 1985. He is the son of the late WWE Hall of Famer, Dusty Rhodes. Dusty is a beloved figure in the history of professional wrestling. Cody naturally grew up around the industry and wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps.

Career

Dusty Rhodes would first compete in the WWE from 2007 and 2016. He had difficulties during that first stint. He would earn the prestigious Intercontinental Championship and Tag Team Championship during that original run.

The downs in the WWE became increasingly consistent for Rhodes. He was not happy where his career was, and how he was being used.

Life Outside Of The WWE

To take control of his career, Rhodes would become an independent wrestler. He would also wrestle for Ring of Honor and TNA. Rhodes would become one of the biggest names outside of the WWE. When AEW launched in 2018, Rhodes was one of the Executive Vice Presidents.

“The American Nightmare” returned to the WWE at WrestleMania 38. He shocked the wrestling world and there was a lot of excitement about his comeback. He was slated to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL, before the icon The Rock stepped in.

Rhodes would initially give his spot up to the superstar, but he would quickly reconsider. He would then start a historic feud with both Reigns and The Rock.

It was some of the WWE’s best content in years. The fanbase was growing and all eyes were on Reigns vs Rhodes at WrestleMania XL. He would defeat Reigns to become the Undisputed WWE Champion.

Today, Rhodes still holds the Undisputed WWE Champion title. He is currently the face of WWE, and business is the best it has been for the company in decades. Cody Rhodes still has a lot to accomplish in the world of wrestling.
