Where’s The Hunger Games Cast Now?

The Hunger Games series is getting yet another revival with a second prequel movie. We got our first prequel in 2023 with The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes starring Rachel Zegler and Tom Blyth.

A new film based on Suzanne Collins' work, called “Sunrise on the Reaping,” will come out in November 2026. The prequel takes place in Panem twenty-four years before the original film. It follows a teenage Haymitch Abernathy during the 50th Hunger Games.

The cast is stacked with notable names including Ralph Fiennes, Kiernan Culkin, Elle Fanning, Maya Hawke, and more. There is now talk about Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson joining the cast again. They would reprise their beloved roles of Katniss and Peeta in the new film. This comes a little over ten years after their original run ended.

What Have The Hunger Games Stars Been Up To?

Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson have both gone through big changes since The Hunger Games trilogy ended in 2015.

Hutcherson has had a handful of acting successes since 2015. From 2017 through 2020 the actor starred in and co-produced the Hulu comedy series Future Man. He then led both of Blumhouse’s Five Night’s at Freddy’s (2023) and Five Night’s at Freddy’s 2 (2025) films which drew in large crowds of young fans.

He recently joined a funny and unique comedy series on Hulu called I Love LA. The show was created by Rachel Sennott and released in November 2025. Hutcherson has not lost any of his endearing charm.

Lawrence has also had a fair share of change and success over the past ten years. She gave birth to her first child in 2022 and welcomed her second child in 2025 with her husband Cooke Maroney. The actress has

also starred in back-to-back hits including but not limited to X-Men: Apocalypse (2016), Mother! (2017), Red Sparrow (2018), X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019), Don’t Look Up (2021), and No Hard Feelings (2023).

Lawrence has just released a new movie at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. The film is called Die My Love and stars Robert Pattinson. At the 83rd Golden Globes the actress was nominated for the Best Actress in a Motion Picture.
