Sadie Sink’s Acting Career
Sadie Sink is one of Hollywood’s most prominent rising stars at the moment. At just 23 years old she has already built an impressive résumé that extends over television, film, Broadway, and soon, the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The New Jersey-raised actress started performing at a young age. Her early work consisted of Broadway, where she played the lead role in Annie, showing off her star power far before heading to Hollywood.
In The Spotlight At A Young Age
In the 2010s Sink began landing screen roles, steadily proving her talent. One of her notable early films was the supernatural thrasher films Fear Street Part Two: 1978 and Fear Street Part Three: 1666 (2021), in which she portrayed a tough teen struggling with her home life. The next year she starred alongside Brendan Fraser in the psychological drama The Whale (2022) which was a hit during the 2022 award season.
She also appeared in A Sacrifice (2024), which is a psychological thriller that further displayed her acting range. But she is most well-known for her breakout role in Netflix’s Stranger Things.
Sink joined the cast during season 2 as Max Mayfield, an initially closed-off character who quickly became a fan favorite for her displays of bravery, vulnerability, and loyalty. Over the course of four seasons, finishing strong as one of the most focused on characters during the final season released in late 2025, Sink’s character evolved from outsider to core member of the Hawkins crew.
Beyond Hawkins
Between seasons of Stranger Things, Sink also took on impactful film work, starring in O’Dessa (2025), a unique post-apocalyptic musical drama released on Hulu. The role allowed her to utilize both her acting and singing talents, returning to her musical roots. In 2025 she also earned a Tony nomination for “Best Actress in a Play” for her performance in the Broadway production of John Proctor Is the Villain. She will make her West End theatre debut as Juliet in Robert Icke's second production of Romeo and Juliet, opening in March 2026.
Now, Sink is preparing for possibly her most high-profile role yet. She has been cast in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day film, the next part of the Spider-Man franchise set for release on July 31, 2026. Although Marvel has kept her character tightly under wraps, the casting alone marks a major milestone, a transition into blockbuster territory and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Whether it’s part of the extended Spider-Verse, a fresh take on a classic, Sink is sure to become even more popular.
