Rising Basketball Star, JuJu Watkins

Judea ‘JuJu’ Skies Watkins was born on July 15, 2005. She is from Los Angeles. Still just a teenager, Watkins has taken the basketball world by storm and is one of the biggest names in the sport.

On The Rise

Women’s basketball is hotter than it has ever been. JuJu Watkins is one of the brightest talents of this era and when this era ends, she could be the best of them all. Watkins spent her youth perfecting her basketball skills on the courts of Southern California.

Southern California

Her hard work and love for the game paid off big for Watkins. She would play high school basketball for Sierra Canyon School. She would choose to stay in Southern California and play for the USC Trojans. She is currently a sophomore and has already made her mark on the celebrated school and women’s basketball.

History Making

Her first year at USC was historic. Watkins didn’t just become a superstar, she broke records. She became the leading scorer among freshmen in NCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball History. The record stood for decades, before JuJu broke it.

Businesswoman

Women’s basketball is at an all-time high in terms of popularity. Names like Caitlin Clark, A'ja Wilson and Sabrina Ionescu are stars in the WNBA on and off the court.

Women are now getting the chance to make their marks in the sneaker world, with lucrative signature deals being signed. The potential endorsement deals that will be offered to JuJu when she goes pro will be substantial. However, thanks to the NIL agreement, she is already making a good living off the court, with partners like Nike partnering with the star.

The Future

The USC Trojans should have sophomore JuJu Watkins a part of the team a few more years. After that, the 6 foot 2 guard will make a splash in the WNBA. Her skills and star power are nearly unmatched in the sport.
