Father & Son

His father, Arvydas Sabonis, was a Lithuanian player who dominated in Europe. He would eventually make his way to the NBA, where he would play for seven seasons. Arvydas was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011.

Making A Name For Himself
Domantas would play college basketball at Gonzaga. He was a Bulldog for 2 years, before entering the NBA Draft. He would be taken with the 11 overall pick by the Orlando Magic in the 2016 NBA Draft. He would then be immediately traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
His rookie year was not strong, and he would be traded after his first season to the Indiana Pacers. His career would begin to flourish as a Pacer. He would become an all-star as a member of the team.

In 2022, Sabonis would be traded to the Sacramento Kings. He would help the squad return to the playoffs for the first time in nearly two decades.
Sabonis is one of the best rebounders in the NBA. He is a skilled passer and a highly efficient scorer. The Kings are contenders in the Western Conference largely due to Domantas Sabonis.
