2019 NBA Draft
The guard would be taken by the Chicago Bulls in the 2019 NBA Draft with the 7th overall pick. Most of the early career for White was spent with him coming off the bench. Despite a limited role, White would often impress with big scoring games.
White’s development has been limited by the Bulls roster. Many talented veteran guards were ahead of White on the depth chart. He had to wait for his opportunity.
2023-2024 NBA Season
The 2023-2024 NBA Season was a breakout one for White. His patience would finally pay off. Injuries cleared the way for him to play a larger role in Chicago’s offense. His scoring average went up from 9.7 to 19.1 points per game with his expanded role.
Future
Coby White is a strong shooter with great speed on his side. He can score with and without the ball in his hands which makes him a tough matchup for guards throughout the league. The Bulls should be expecting a lot more from White after his strong 2023-2024 NBA campaign.
