Last year adidas and Korn excited music and sneaker fans with a capsule collection. For 2024, the duo is collaborating again, and the collection promises to excite fans. You will be able to find Korn x adidas at Shoe Palace.
Nu Metal Icons
Korn is one of the pioneers of “nu metal.” The style of music is also embraced by names like Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit. From the start, adidas was a big part of Korn’s aesthetic. Jonathan Davis, the frontman for Korn, was known for embracing the brand's sneakers and tracksuits.
2024
This 2024 collaboration has a Superstar that ties to a 1994 Korn music video. The song/video was “Blind.”
This is the first single released from Korn’s debut album. Davis wore a black and red tracksuit in the video. The Korn x adidas Superstar for 2024 pays tribute to that video. There will also be an apparel collection that honors Blind as well.
The Start
adidas started as a factory founded by brothers, Adolf, and Rudolf Dassler, in 1924. The adidas story began in Bavaria, Germany. The goals for the brothers were simple, they wanted to provide the best shoes possible for athletes. The brothers would eventually separate, and Adolf, also known as Adi, continued to create the brand.
3 Stripes
In 1949 Adi Dassler registered “Adi Dassler adidas Sportschuhfabrik.” That year he registered a shoe that included the soon to be iconic, 3 Stripes.
adidas would grow in stature by being a part of the sports world, especially the soccer world early on. It would then move into the track and soccer worlds. Being an impressive performance sneaker is what made the brand an icon. Which was always the goal of Adi Dassler.
