Los Angeles, Ca – 2.8.2025 -
Homies has been a celebrated piece of the Bay Area & East Los Angeles Chicano and Lowrider Car Culture for decades now.
It was created by artist David Gonzales. Homies was a staple at swap meets and liquor stores in the 90s. Homies toys, tiny, stylized figurines, were an affordable and fun collectible for young and old to enjoy. Gonzales built not just a Homies merchandise empire, but also a vessel for turning the turbulent times of the streets into something humorous and uplifting.
Gonzales work emphasizes California urban culture, which is close to the heart of Shoe Palace. Shoe Palace is highlighting the work of Gonzales with a new Shoe Palace x Homies collab. The exclusive collection takes the work of Gonzales and brings it to life on apparel that can only be found at Shoe Palace.
You can find Homies at Shoe Palace stores and on shoepalace.com this February 17.
About Shoe Palace
In 2023 Shoe Palace celebrated 30 years of business. The footwear company currently has over 200 locations across the country and a successful e-commerce website. The retailer is one of the most trusted names in the industry with a list of partners that includes Nike, Jordan Brand, adidas, New Balance and many, many more. Shoe Palace is the realization of a dream its founder, Agob Mersho, believed could only be accomplished in America. His goal from the start was simple, he wanted to provide a better life for his wife and five kids. In 1978, Agob made the bold choice to move his family from their home country of Syria to the United States. It took 15 years of trial and error, but eventually the first Shoe Palace location opened its doors in the Bay Area of California in 1993.
