Angel Reese was born on May 6, 2002. She is from Maryland. Her mother played basketball at the University of Maryland. Reese’s mother would play professionally overseas. Reese’s father would have a similar trajectory to her mom. He played college basketball before playing professionally outside the USA. Basketball is in the DNA of the Reese family. Angel was a gifted player with the skills and height to stand out as a high school hooper.
Maryland
Reese chose to play for the University of Maryland in 2020 as a five-star recruit and the No. 2 player nationally in her class. After 2 seasons at Maryland, Reece decided she wanted to try something new. Reese would choose to play for LSU after visiting the campus and bonding with coach Kim Mulkey. The transfer proved to be a wise one with LSU winning the 2023 Women's NCAA Championship. Reese was the leader of the team. In 2024 she would have another impactful campaign despite adversity playing a role in her final season of college basketball.
WNBA
The Chicago Sky would select Reese with the 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. The toughness and competitiveness of Reece blends in perfectly with the blue collar mentality of the city of Chicago.
